My year with these nine amazing girls is coming to an end.
It's been an INCREDIBLE year full of missions and making a difference.
I've loved getting to know these beautiful souls and I have no doubt that they are all going to do impactful things with their lives.
Not only will each of these girls receive a letter of recommendation but they've stacked up 24 hours of community service.
Here's a look back on our amazing year together...
Hamburg Flood Relief
Our first opportunity came early thanks to Mother Nature.
When the floods hit the tiny town of Hambug, IA the ROLEmodels stepped up.
They rallied donations and made the long detour drive to the community.
They helped organize donations and toured the small town and saw first hand the impact of the 2019 flooding.
The girls celebrated Earth Day by helping with our community's big celebration!
They made crafts with the kids and enjoyed the sunshine.
Hot Air Ballon Festival
It was the biggest and hottest day of the year for our community!
The girls painted alllll the faces of the kiddos. :)
It was a fun evening with lots of memories made!
The Little Free Pantry
The girls helped stock and maintain the LFP all year long!
Halloween was so fun this year.
They handed out trick or treat bags in exchange for donations.
The Little Free Pantry was installed by my 2019 ROLEmodels but it's all of our responsibility to keep it going!
Our main mission.
The girls hopped on a flight to the Windy City and were determined to make a difference.
First up was meeting sweet Ellie.
An incredible little lady who has defied odds.
The girls also sat down for dinner with Ellie's mother Rebecca and learned all about her adoption journey
and how she made a difference over seas.
It was a an eye opening day for these young girls.
Next up was a day of serving with Sarah's Circle.
A safe house for women.
The girls shopped for, prepared and served an amazing taco dinner to the women of the shelter.
They were also given a tour of the facility and learned so much about the amazing center.
It was a FULL and busy day but the girls made a difference and I know they felt that in their hearts.
The conversations and friendships they made that day will stay with them forever.
It wasn't ALL work during this busy trip!
We had some time for fun!
We went on an amazing architect tour, had a stylish photoshoot at Navy Pier,
ate amazing food and made a pit stop in Wrigleyville!
This trip was amazing.
It's always my goal with my ROLEmodels to educate them about how EASY it is to be empathetic and make a difference.
Big or small.
I'll never forget this trip or these amazing young women.
My message to the girls...
You're an incredible girl with a MASSIVE heart...that you wear on your sleeve just like me. ;) Never change your empathic values and your hope for everything positive. Remember to take deep breaths and call me for anything. I've loved getting to know you and I have no doubt you're going to do amazing and impactful things.
You're truly a gem. One of my favorite memories is watching how you interacted with Ellie. You really have a gift with children. You have an amazing way of connecting with them and giving them a little piece of your heart. Never change that. I'll be here rooting for you every step of the way. I feel it in my bones that you're off to make BIG differences.
You're a fierce girl that I've loved getting to know. You stepped up with all of our missions and it's that drive in you that I love the most! Continue to trust your instincts and you'll be perfectly set. You've got a determined head on your shoulders and I can't wait to see what this world has in store for you!
GO. Go where you're dreaming of. You have a determined mind with big ambitions and your creative soul and powerful instincts shouldn't be put on the back burner. SO GO!!! Go do beautiful and amazing things in this world because you have a heart that's ready for it!
Never ever change your genuine heart. You have an amazing way of going with the flow and that's something I admire about you. You're kind and compassionate and those are just a couple characteristics about you I love. It's been an honor getting to know you this past year and I can't wait to catch up with you when you're back from doing all of the amazing things you're going to do!
I wish you could see the smile on my face as I type this...because that's what happens when I think about you. Your positivity is overwhelmingly cheerful and so addictive. You remind me what it feels like to be at the starting line so eager and so excited. Never change your perky ways. It will take you to very happy places.
I think it's safe to say that without you in Chicago something would have been lost or left and we would have been late for one of our adventures. :) Your attention to detail is something that I not only love about you but I admire and strive to have! Your sweet soul is so amazing and you make so many people feel so important and cared for. Never change that.
'Why be moody when you can shake your booty'...this will forever remind me of you. That and hot sauce. ;) I've never laughed so much with a senior before. You have an amazing way of bringing out joy in people. You bring happiness wherever you go and that trait will take you places. I can't wait to watch you domaimate goals and tackle this thing called life.
Whenever I think about you I just want to squeeze you as hard as I can because you're the sweetest girl ever. You're an amazing friend to so many and you'd do anything for anyone no matter the circumstances. That's an incredible trait to have. Carry that with you forever. Stay true to that beautiful heart of yours and you'll do just fine.
