2021 ROLEMODEL RECAP
We knew Covid would throw a wrench in some of our plans but we had no idea it would completely cancel our mission.
But if there's one thing I've learned with these seniors this past year it's that nothing can stop their giving hearts.
They adapted and they kept swimming.
They kept their heads above the waves and didn't give in.
Here's a little recap of this past year with these incredible kids.
DIAPER DRIVE
In May Kat Hendrix, a young mother of two babies, was hit by a car while walking. The driver took off and left her. She was found and taken to the hospital where thankfully she survived. She suffered major injuries and spent months in Rehab. The ROLEmodels stepped up and hosted a diaper drive. THOUSANDS of diapers came in. Because of the generous turnout the team was able to donate diapers to our local diaper closet as well! We are happy to share that Kat is doing well! Day by day she gets stronger. We love you Kat!
SPRINGFIELD FOR GO SHOUT LOVE
In July we loaded up for a road trip to Springfield, MO.
We visited the print shop that makes Go Shout Love's amazing and softest tees.
We spent time with the Go Shout Love team and learned how easy it is to make a difference for incredible kiddos.
We spent time in the Go Shout Love studio packing up orders and learning all about Fletcher.
The team scored some one of a kind bracelets handmade by Fletcher as well.
They also were able to print their very own GSL tee in the studio!
THE LITTLE FREE PANTRY
Every year the ROLEmodels take care of and stock the Little Free Pantry.
The LFP was installed by my first group of seniors and it's our mission every year to take care of it.
We had so many amazing donations from local businesses and neighbors.
This little pantry has brought a lot of joy to our Main Street and we couldn't be prouder.
We also got caught in a MASSIVE rainstorm. That was a fun memory.
